Client: Glen Eden Bowling Club

The bowling club sits at the base of a large park behind the Glen Eden town centre shops and RSA leased clubrooms. The proposal was to pool resources to provide for Glen Eden a community facility incorporating new clubrooms, club / RSA dining and bar facilities and Anzac Day ceremonial entrance and memorial, outdoor family dining and entertainment areas, community sports facilities such as bowls, squash, basketball and indoor soccer and a high quality restaurant with decks over looking the bowling greens and with access to the park.

The new Clubhouse connects to the existing clubrooms and forms a more casual edge with landscape barbecue and games courts to the southeastern edges of the existing greens. The new entrance provides separate access to the RSA lounge and bar and clubrooms at ground level from upstairs functions and dining facilities. New exterior seating areas and umbrellas are proposed where the green courts meet the greens for the benefit of the Clubhouse users and for casual visitors to the centre during the day. The upstairs restaurant caters for mixed functions which can all open out onto a large deck looking over the greens or northeast wards to the higher level park and town centre beyond.
